Codec Guide

Hi!

Is it me or is there no v5.2.0 to v5.3.0 update? I tried to install v5.4.0 update, but it wanted v5.3.0. Do I have to install the full version? And why does v5.4.0 full version require me to uninstall v5.2.0?

There is no update because there were major changes. You need to use the complete installer of 5.4.0.

Also, it seems like a lot of people have problems with the major changes? I might wait a bit. I might want to also dump RealAlternative and Codec Full package to install Mega pack. Do I understand Mega doesn't have QuickTime Alternate/Lite stuff?

Only two problems have been reported for 5.4.0:
1) AC3Filter does not register if some Microsoft runtimes are missing.
2) Some obscure error when running the installation. I suspect a damaged download, so not yet a confirmed bug.

Both will be fixed in next version, which will become available probably after the weekend.

Mega does not include any QuickTime stuff.

Thanks. I will wait. I just don't want to deal with broken stuff if I do uninstall and install the latest Mega Pack version with these major changes. I will probably do it during the long Thanksgiving weekend or something. You should had called it v6.
