Movies playback in Win7 not as good as in previous Windows

Movies don't play in Windows 7 as good as in previous versions of Windows with the same K-Lite Kodec Pack installed. For example, a DVD movie is not as "sharp", hard to explain, it is more pixelated even though it is hard to notice, but you still notice the quality - it is worse when you watch it in Windows 7.

Plus I noticed another bug, when I was watching one movie where suppose to be subtitles to appear (as the characters were speaking foreign language) - during playback in Windows Vista these subtitle were appearing in the movie automatically. With the same playback in Windows 7 these subtitles don't appear.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue with Windows 7?

I am running Sony VAIO VGN-FW23G Laptop with ATI Radeon 3400 Video card. Windows 7 automatically picked up drivers of this video card. But in attempts to fix playback problem I downloaded drivers package from AMD site for my video card and installed it, but result is still the same, not a good quality playback.

The problem with Windows 7 is that Microsoft has decided to force its own players to use its own decoders whenever possible.

If you are using Media Player Classic, then you should enable its internal MPEG-2 decoder. That should give better quality and subtitles should work again.
