Just checked - works fine win WMP x86.
Any solution for WMP x64 (and Media Center)?

BTW Latest beta fixed problem with x86 players.

Discovered one issue - DC-Bass allow to have only one instance simultaneously. Second instance always silent!

I don't know of any solution for x64.

Please report the multiple instances problem to the DC-Bass developer here:

However it won't play in MPC:

Letting GraphStudio try to render the file automatically crashes the program. Manually placing DC-Bass Source (as one of the mp4 files earlier in this thread was recognized), it replies with "Cannot load specified file".

Are you sure you enabled the DC-Bass M4A option in the installer? It is disabled by default. You can also activate it with the Codec tweak Tool.

I'm pretty sure I did, since I can play this file:

Here is GraphStudio's graph: "DC-Bass source" -> "Default DirectSound Device"

I get the same graph for the file in GraphStudio as well, so I guess this is fine.

My experience is that certain M4A files don't play with the DC-Bass Source filter. Most work fine, but some fail. Possibly due to DRM.

You should be able to play them with QT Lite + MediaLooks QT Source filter.

I don't think it has anything to do with DRM since the files were self-recorded with the iPhone acting as a voice recorder. Also, if only random "certain files" were unplayable, it would be somewhat improbable that having three files (recordings) all of them were the "certain files".

As for the source filter. It says in the downloads section of the MediaLooks page that the filter is a "full-featured 30-day trial" (confirm?) so it's a rather time-limited solution. I guess I'll fall back to QuickTime for playing and then maybe re-record it through some virtual sound card into a more "user-friendly" format.
