Better Vista Implementation for Windows Photo(Video)Gallery

Postby bugmenot on Tue Jul 22, 2008 7:17 pm

Hello

I am proud to use your codec pack allready over 2 years.

A while ago I installed Vista and I use the k-lite megacodec pack for codecs.

Now, when Iam looking in a folder with Pictures and Movies, I can look at the pictures with Windows Photo Gallery, but when it comes to the movies it says, that it can't play the movie.. because there is no codec for Windows Photo(Video)Gallery..

With the VistaCodec-Pack it did work for a friend.. but I don't wanna use it.

It would be nice if you guys could do there something for the next version of kl(m)cp.

have a nice day

bye

Are you able to play those same videos with Windows Media Player?

Could you also please post the exact error message?

There are no special codecs for Photo Gallery. It should be able to use the standard ones. But as with many other Microsoft products, it might need some special registry keys to convince it of its own capabilities.

I'll investigate this issue.

Hmm, from what I could find, Photo Gallery only plays WMV, MPEG (and AVI?) files.
