I recently installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. After installation, I began having problems playing MP3 Files. Specifically, I have to attempt to open the file multiple times before it is actually played.
With Windows Media Player 11, I get the error message "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file." The Web Help redirects Here, but all of the solutions listed seem unlikely considering opening the file again (sometimes multiple times) will result in playback.
I tried this again with Media Player Classic. Instead of giving an error, it simply shows the seek bar moving, but without audio.
This problem is present when I try to play any MP3 file. Whether or not the problem occurs seems to be random. Sometimes the file will play on the first attempt, sometimes on the second, and sometimes I'll have to continually click on it for almost a minute.
WMP and Media Player Classic both seem to have the same problem, and both seem to be fixed in the same [ongoingly annoying] way. This problem only became present after installing the K-Like Mega Codec Pack.
I have Windows Vista Ultimate Edition with a Realtek ALC882M.
