Error: Could not open WordPad

If I click on "Contents" or "Help" in the setup of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 5.2.0 it say "Error: Could not open WordPad".

That means the pack was not able to locate WordPad.exe on your computer. That is used to display the help documentation.

Could you check if WordPad.exe exists on your computer and tell me what its location is.

"D:\Programmi\Windows NT\Accessori\wordpad.exe"

I have made some tests and this part "D:\Programmi\Windows NT\" works but this don't works: "Accessori\"

Inside D:\Programmi\Windows NT\ there are always only two folders, you can try to open wordpad.exe from all folders contained so you don't need to know the name.

So in the end the installer will try to open:
D:\Programmi\Windows NT\Accessori\wordpad.exe
D:\Programmi\Windows NT\Pinball\wordpad.exe

And will be opened only one time since wordpad.exe exists in only one folder.

PS: "Accessori" is the Italian version of "Accessories"

I have found a better solution. The registry contains a key with the translated name of the 'Accessories' folder.

But it is still weird that the other detection methods did not work. Those used several locations in the registry that reference the location of WordPad. None of them are language dependent.

Could you please do it for the "mega" variant of the codec pack?

Are you using "PF_AccessoriesName" or "SM_AccessoriesName"?
