Audio & Video of MKV Video Are Not Synched

Postby mowen on Tue Nov 03, 2009 6:41 pm

Hi Mate,
I have a hi def MKV video file. I downloaded the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack to play the file, but the video and the audio are not synched. I used Window Media Player basic and some other players to play the file; the result is the same; audio is way ahead of video.

Should I need something else to play the file or any other codecs to synch?
Please advise!

What do you mean with "Window Media Player basic"?

There are:
-Windows Media Player
-Media Player Classic
-Media Player Classic Home Cinema

During installation, select the DivX H.264 decoder.

If it still goes out-of-sync after that, then your computer is simply too slow to play these high resolution files.

Thanks, I meant 'classic' not 'basic'. I tried all of these, but the video was still out of sync.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the DivX H.264 decoder was selected. I'll reinstall the codecs pack again to make sure.
My PC is not a slow one. I have a 3.2GHz CPU with 4GB of memory.

High resolution H.264 requires a powerful PC. It can easily saturate a 3.2 GHz CPU core.

The DivX H.264 decoder is multi-threaded, so it can better divide the work over multiple CPU cores.

It works, mate! I uninstalled the previous one and reinstalled the pack again with all the ffshow unchecked to replace with H.264 and other decoders. Since my CPU is a dual core, it can handle multi-threaded tasks really well. My video file is larger than 10GB in size. With this decoder, it gives a vivid crystal clear picture and a perfect audio video synch.

Thanks for your advice!
